Phototriggered Aggregation‐Induced Emission and Direct Generation of 4D Soft Patterns

Microscopic control of macroscopic phenomena is one the core subjects in materials science. Particularly, spatio-temporal material behaviors through a non-contact way fundamental importance but difficult to accomplish. Herein, strategy realize remote luminescence reported. A multi-arm salicylaldehyde benzoylhydrazone-based aggregation-induced emission luminogen (AIEgen)/metal-ion system, which fluorescence can be gated by UV irradiation with time dependency, developed. By changing metal-ion species, and intensity also tuned. The mechanism UV-mediated change investigated, it revealed that phototriggered (PTAIE) process contributes behaviors. AIEgen further covalently integrated into polymeric network formed gel/metal-ion system achieve laser-mediated mask-free writing enabled PTAIE process. Moreover, taking advantage time-dependent self-healing property hydrazone-based dynamic covalent bond, transformable 4D soft patterns are generated. findings increase ways manipulate molecules on supramolecule or aggregate level. They show opportunities for development controllable smart expand scope advanced optoelectronic applications.
